As they say from my roots up the Valley, “Gidday, Eh.”
This week for our worship service we will be having Holy Communion. It certainly won’t be the same, as we can’t be together in a room, but I encourage you, before you sit down to watch the May 31 worship service video, to prepare yourself a small glass of juice/wine and a morsel of bread or cracker. As we move through the service, there will be a time when I will introduce the action of Communion and you are invited to join with me in consuming the elements you have prepared for yourself. This Communion is a reminder that, although we cannot be together in person, we are still part of a family, thinking about and caring for one another.
On another note, please don’t forget about the Multi-Faith Housing Tulipathon this weekend. Here is the information:
Woodroffe United - a Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) Member
One of the very important things Woodroffe strives to do as a member of this coalition of faith communities is join together in various special fundraising activities. Each spring TULIPATHON is THE yearly fundraiser to collect monies to subsidize rental fees for the folks who live in any of the 4 affordable housing facilities run by MHI.
COVID-19 WON'T STOP TULIPATHON 2020!
Our tenants need you more than ever. Complete an independent solo stroll or household hike to support MHI on Sunday, May 31, 2020. https://www.multifaithhousing.ca/tulipathon.html
Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) is pleased to announce that we are going ahead with Tulipathon this year! Due to COVID-19, MHI is transforming its annual walkathon fundraiser into a Virtual Tulipathon on Sunday, May 31, 2020. Let's #keepcalmandtulipathon!
Hopefully these links describe well how you can make a difference for people in affordable housing in Ottawa. Please engage in this event and get Woodroffe United’s participation up - up - up!
I hope you have opportunities to enjoy the summer weather we’ve been having. Don’t forget the sunscreen.
